Administrative Assistant I/Data Specialist

HOURS: Monday through Friday 7.5 hours per day plus a half hour unpaid lunch

COMPENSATION: $24.80 - $29.67 per hour per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interact with staff, students and the general public in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Front office duties include: reception, greeting the public, answering and directing phone calls, attendance, sorting and distributing mail.
  • Update and maintain confidential master electronic and hard copy of student information including but not limited to student attendance, class schedules, demographics etc. and to prepare relative reports for internal and external use as required.
  • May operate public address system and may be required to attend mandatory trainings.
  • May also be required to cover for or assist other office staff as necessary.
  • Training on software systems may be required during the summer.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have excellent public interface skills.
  • Must be able to multitask in a busy, fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a must.
  • One year certificate from college or business school or one year related experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply
