We are seeking a US Market Access Pharmacy Consulting Fellow for 2023-2024 The US Market Access Pharmacy Consulting Fellow is a one year post-doctoral pharmacy graduate position which will support the market research business development and commercialization consulting strategy needs of the Ashfield Engage Market Access team The Fellow will build on the knowledge and skills acquired through didactic education in pharmacy school so that these might be applied in a real world setting of a diverse market access pharmacy consulting practice Specifically the Fellow will gain experiential training in how managed care pharmacy principles impact coverage and management of small molecule and biologic medications and how a consulting company develops strategies to support its clients to obtain affordable access for pharmaceuticals The Fellow will have responsibility for conducting secondary research of clinical pharmaceutical subjects and will have responsibility for supporting Activities may include agenda preparation background research meeting notes and presentations Participate in payer market research initiatives which may include 11 telephone discussions or group advisory panels Activities may include preparation of disease backgrounders design of the moderator discussion guide summarization of interviews with interpretation of responses and generation of project reports and recommendations Identify potential clients through review of pharmaceuticals in late-stage development Support new sales presentations to obtain a consulting project Activities may include research on target companys key products and services development of a capabilitys presentation and recommendations for new business ideas Practice self-managed professional development asking questions on new concepts Review managed care daily news and identify and communicate current events which might impact our business Provide quarterly formal presentations on managed markets access challenges Preparation for these presentations should include analysis and interpretation of primary literature as well as any practical experience gained through this Fellowship Create and deliver formal presentations on large national payers profiling their organizational structure subsidiary companies and market segments with a special emphasis on their coverage and delivery of pharmaceuticals Serve as a mentor to the USC School of Pharmacy 4th year APPE Rotations Actively engaging students in meaningful dialog on managed care principles and practices and how they might impact pharmaceutical coverage and other management controls Support training on current Ashfield Engage Market Access activities and oversee the students involvement in their assigned projects Take initiative in ownership of assigned tasks and must be innovative and accountable for meeting deadlines and deliverables Special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Market Research Other duties as assigned What do you need for this position Recent post-doctoral pharmacy graduate from accredited school of pharmacy Basic knowledge of managed care practices and principles acquired through coursework rotations job experience or volunteering with student chapter AMCP Familiarity with Microsoft Word PowerPoint Outlook and Excel Ability to work independently and has a strong attention to detail Demonstrates leadership has taken the lead on projects and has supported fellow students or other colleagues in meeting the overall team goals Ability to recognize confidential
