Business Intelligence (BI) / Data Analyst Specialist

Department: Operations

Reports to: Head of Operations

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly analytical and business-savvy Business Intelligence (BI) Expert to take full ownership of our data intelligence ecosystem. Currently, our E-Commerce platform is in a phase where our backend data dashboards require significant restructuring.

While the operations team focuses on execution, you will be the "data brain" behind their strategies. Your core mandate is to overhaul our current backend infrastructure, define rigorous data metrics, and provide the deep-dive analytical insights necessary to boost GMV, user retention, and conversion funnels. If you are a problem-solver who excels at translating messy data into crystal-clear product and operational strategies, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

BI Infrastructure & Dashboard Reconstruction (Core Focus)

  • Audit & Overhaul: Lead the comprehensive audit of our current backend data dashboards. Identify data gaps, inaccuracies, and usability issues.
  • Technical Bridging: Act as the ultimate bridge between the business teams and the Data Engineering team. Write clear Data Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to fix data pipelines and visualize key metrics effectively.
  • Reporting Architecture: Establish and automate robust data reporting mechanisms (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) to track core E-commerce metrics including GMV, ROI, LTV (Life-Time Value), and User Retention, ensuring absolute data accuracy for the management team.

Deep-Dive Analytics & Product Funnel Optimization

  • Funnel Diagnostics: Perform advanced, deep-dive analysis on the complete user journey (e.g., “Download → Registration → First Order”). Identify exact drop-off points and bottlenecks in the UX/UI.
  • User Behavior Modeling: Analyze the user lifecycle to segment audiences (New, Active, Dormant, Lost). Provide the operations team with targeted data cohorts to execute precision recall and retention campaigns.
  • Feature Tuning Support: Evaluate the performance of newly launched product features through data. Provide actionable feedback to the Product team to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) for user experience friction.

Data Tracking & Governance

  • Event Tracking Ownership: Independently define and manage the comprehensive data tracking plan (event tracking points) across the App and Web platforms. Ensure every new feature launch has a flawless data tracking mechanism in place.
  • Metric Standardization: Unify metric definitions across Product, Tech, and Marketing teams, so everyone operates from a single source of truth.

Strategic Growth & ROI Analysis

  • Campaign & Channel Analytics: Evaluate the performance of major promotional events (flash sales, targeted campaigns) and user acquisition channels (ASO, SEO, Push, Email).
  • A/B Testing Mastery: Design, oversee, and analyze A/B tests for product features and marketing channels to ensure the company maximizes its Return on Investment (ROI).

Our Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Business Analytics.
  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in Data Analysis or Business Intelligence, preferably within E-Commerce, Internet platforms, or Product-led growth environments.
  • Language: Professional proficiency in English is mandatory (Working language).

Hard Skills:

  • Advanced Analytics: Expert-level proficiency in SQL (ability to write complex, highly optimized queries). Strong experience with Python or R for data modeling and statistical analysis.
  • BI & Visualization: Deep expertise in building complex, interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or advanced internal BI systems.
  • Growth Methodology: Deep understanding of the AARRR funnel, User Lifecycle models, and E-commerce unit economics (CAC, LTV, ROI).
  • Documentation: Proven ability to write clear technical requirements (Data PRDs) and mapping out event tracking schemas.

Soft Skills:

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional ability to drive data projects forward in a multi-role environment, successfully translating business needs to engineers and data realities to marketers.
  • Problem Solving in Ambiguity: Strong logical thinking. You don't just pull data; you proactively identify what data needs to be pulled to solve an underlying business problem, even when information is incomplete.
  • Resilience: High tolerance for pressure and the ability to prioritize critical data fixes in a fast-paced environment.

Performance Objectives (KPIs)

  • Infrastructure Delivery: Successfully reconstruct and launch the optimized backend Data Dashboards within the agreed timeline, achieving a high adoption rate among internal teams.
  • Data Accuracy: Achieve near 100% accuracy and uptime for core daily/weekly reporting metrics.
  • Business Impact: Uncover actionable insights that directly contribute to quarter-over-quarter improvements in the “Registration to First Order” conversion rate and overall User Retention Rate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED6,000.00 per month
