We are seeking applicants with Construction, Engineering, or Materials experience for a Senior Category Manager to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million-dollar Ops construction projects.<br><br>The role will work alongside a team of Construction category managers and will partner closely with Pre-Construction, Design and Construction, World Wide Real-Estate, and World Wide Design to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings/value and improve productivity across the category.<br><br>This role will be part of an exciting, fast moving and growing team. The right candidate for this role will be a self-starter with dedication to seeing projects through to the end. You must be able to work independently in a collaborative, creative, ever-changing and ambiguous environment. You will have an eye for detail and determination to standardize processes and turn-over high-quality work. This position involves direct contact with both internal and external stakeholders, and the candidate must have an ability to communicate effectively with business partners at every level, including upper management to inform decision making.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Lead General Contractor and supplier strategies for construction category projects, partnering with a multi-disciplinary team, owning the delivery of complex, multi-million-dollar sites.</li><li> Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision-making process of the category roadmap with senior leadership.</li><li> Build relationships and alignment with internal and external stakeholders to effectively plan and deliver site launches to meet site construction programs, particularly for Prime week and Peak season.</li><li> Own the individual targets and goals identified across the NA GC construction category scope as well as identifying and delivering incremental process and system improvements</li><li> Drive Supplier sourcing, award, contracting and ongoing support until project delivery, while maintaining commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance;</li><li> Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability & social responsibility;</li><li> Help develop Key Performance Indicators and set goals for the team</li><li> Audit the progress of the team to ensure we are meeting customer expectations</li><li> Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed</li><li> Candidate must be able to travel, up to 25%<br><br></li></ul>A day in the life<br><br><ul><li> You will deliver market leading low-cost, innovative and sustainable construction equipment/services to help our Operations teams succeed and delight Amazon.com customers with speed, selection and convenience</li><li> You will collaborate to seek inputs and manage outputs from our external suppliers as well as internal partners across Design & Construction, Operations Engineering, Workplace Health & Safety and Finance</li><li> You may have to adapt and sometimes take different roles from strategy development to project management to rapidly meet customer needs</li><li> You will focus on deep diving categories to unlock value and help deploy emerging technologies at scale for Operations<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 5+ years of program or project management experience</li><li> 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience</li><li> 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience</li><li> 3+ years of supply chain experience</li><li> Bachelor's degree</li><li> Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL</li><li> Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 5+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience</li><li> 5+ years of driving process improvements experience</li><li> Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization</li><li> Experience building processes, project management, and schedules<br><br></li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.<br><br>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
