Position Description:

Requirements

  • 21 years of age is the minimum threshold that must be met
  • Suggestions for passing a Ryder drug test
  • As part of the application process with Ryder, applicants must undergo a background check, motor vehicle examination, and present proof of drug and alcohol testing history from the preceding three years with past employers
  • Pass a medical evaluation for DOT approval
  • Satisfactorily demonstrate driving abilities during the Ryder road test
  • Candidates must possess the appropriate Commercial Driver's License (CDL) along with any pertinent endorsements for this role
  • A key requirement is having concrete, documented experience with a Class A vehicle like a tractor-trailer or a similar transport:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years,or
  • A minimum of two years of experience within the last five years is compulsory
  • A solid background of five years of recent experience within the past decade
  • Competency in following written or verbal directives accurately
  • Skill in comprehending and utilizing laws, regulations, and policies appropriately

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to the appropriate federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules and standards is a fundamental requirement
  • Identifying and reducing safety hazards, while also maintaining detailed records and logs
  • Offering support with the loading/unloading of goods as per customer requirements
  • Manages additional duties as mandated
