Central Scheduler - Central Call Center

Christie Clinic's department of Central Call Center is seeking a full-time Central Scheduler from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic.

Duties include politely answering and directing calls as necessary, taking refill requests from patients for providers and assisting other providers with scheduling and patient calls, as needed. Experience in a medical office setting preferred.

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
  • Answer, screen and refer inquiries to appropriate locations.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments per protocol.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate the XARIOS phone system.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical records.
  • Input flu vaccine information electronic medical records.
  • Assist providers who, temporarily or permanently, do not have their own scheduling staff.
  • Assist other departments with phone coverage as needed.
  • Send appointment cancellation calls or notify patients by phone, to reschedule any cancelled appointment.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout call per protocol
  • Perform related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in a medical office setting
  • Computer courses

  • None

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include long periods of sitting. The scheduler must wear a headset. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required. High stress situations due to high volumes of multiple phone calls may be present.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office setting and may require working irregular hours.

The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
