Tellworks Logistics is a rapidly growing logistics company known for its entrepreneurial spirit and agility. We are seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity for the right candidate to wield substantial influence in the success and growth of our organization. Location: Atlanta or Remote customer-driven compliance requirements The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for designing, leading, and overseeing the company’s multi-site distribution center compliance program, with a focus on logistics-based warehousing operations and activities. This role ensures that all operational activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing warehousing, transportation, safety, labor standards, environmental requirements and customer-driven compliance requirements. The CCO works closely with executive leadership, operations, and Human Resources to embed compliance into daily operations. Key Responsibilities Compliance Leadership • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Ensure compliance frameworks are scalable and effective across multiple facilities and geographic regions. • Promote a culture of compliance through training, communication, and operational integration. Regulatory & Operational Compliance • Oversee compliance with OSHA, labor and employment laws, environmental regulations, and relevant industry standards. • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments impacting warehousing, fulfillment, and logistics operations, and proactively advise leadership on implications. • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external advisors. • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and operational risks across warehouses, distribution centers, and transportation functions. • Lead internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections; oversee the development and execution of corrective action plans. • Manage investigations related to safety incidents, regulatory violations, and compliance complaints. • Ensure consistent adherence to company standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Leadership & Governance • Lead and manage the compliance team (2–3 team members). • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on compliance risks, trends, incidents, and program effectiveness. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, or relevant compliance certification strongly preferred. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, with an operations focus, preferably within warehousing, logistics, or supply chain environments. • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, OSHA and safety regulations, and logistics-related compliance requirements. • Proven experience building and managing compliance programs in multi-site and/or multi-state organizations. • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership. • Lean Six Sigma background preferred. • Big Four or similar consulting experience preferred. • Atlanta-based candidates preferred; open to remote candidates. • Ability to travel up to 50%.
