Coffee Roaster (Production Technician I)

As a Production Technician – Roasting, you’ll operate roasting equipment and support the process that transforms green coffee into the roasted coffee enjoyed by customers every day. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with coffee, takes pride in quality and consistency, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll work closely with a team to ensure every batch meets our quality, safety, and production standards. Responsiblities Operate coffee roasting equipment to produce high-quality coffee according to the daily production schedule. Monitor roast profiles, batch quality, and control points to ensure consistency and adherence to Peet’s quality standards. Follow all food safety and workplace safety standards, including GMPs, sanitation procedures, and company policies. Complete required production documentation and quality checks for roasting operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary roasting workstation and production environment. Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production targets while maintaining product quality and safety. Identify and communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety risks to supervisors or maintenance teams. Support onboarding and training of team members and temporary staff on roasting processes and best practices. Continuously develop roasting and technical skills through training and cross-functional learning. Maintain flexibility to support production needs, including overtime or weekend work as required. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 1 year of production experience as a machine technician or in operations leadership. Preferred: At least 1 year of formal training in the coffee industry inside or outside of Peet’s is strongly desired. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the applicant’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education, certifications or licenses, other legitimate non-discriminatory business factors, and the geographic location of the role. In addition to base pay, individuals in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
