Communications Support Officer

The Opportunity Are you a creative communicator with a passion for public service? Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is looking for a versatile Communications Support Officer to join our Central Support team for a 13-month maternity cover, or as a secondment opportunity.  You will help us tell the story of LFR, supporting the planning and delivery of engaging content for our employees, stakeholders, and the diverse communities we serve. From managing social media campaigns to designing digital assets, you will play a key part in driving advocacy and engagement across the county.  Key Responsibilities Content Creation: Design and deliver compelling written, visual, and video content for digital platforms (social media, web) and traditional print media.Campaign Management: Proactively support the implementation of LFR’s Communications and Engagement Strategy in line with local and national campaigns.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships across service areas and partner agencies, representing LFR at meetings and events.Digital Presence: Support the management and delivery of social media channels (including X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and ensure the LFR intranet remains accurate and up to date.Performance Tracking: Monitor communication metrics and provide reports to the Communications Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of our reach. What we’re looking for We are seeking a proactive professional who thrives in a rapidly changing environment.   You should possess: Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience in communications, marketing, or a related qualification.Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.Digital Fluency: Practical experience managing various social media platforms and web-based communications.Communication Flair: Outstanding verbal and written skills, with the ability to tailor messages for a range of audiences, including vulnerable groups.Flexibility: While primarily office-based, there will be scope for working from home after a settling in period. Why join us? This is a unique chance to contribute to a high-performing emergency service. You will have the opportunity to join innovative projects, advise on best practices, and gain experience in public sector communications.
