Part-time Housekeeper

Overview

A private Principal couple in Surrey are seeking an experienced part-time Housekeeper for their informal country home, currently undergoing renovation.

The role will begin at two days per week, with scope to increase to four days. The household includes three adult children and family pets, so applicants must be animal-friendly and comfortable working alongside a PA, grounds staff and contractors.

This is a hands-on position focused on maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards. No cooking or travel is required.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Part-time Housekeeper in Surrey, include:

  • Maintaining the property to an immaculate standard through detailed daily cleaning

  • Laundry care, including ironing and wardrobe management

  • Careful handling and upkeep of fine furnishings, fabrics, and art

  • Organising rooms, cupboards, and storage spaces to ensure order throughout the home

  • Receiving grocery deliveries and assisting with occasional errands (e.g. dry cleaning)

  • Managing household cleaning supplies and replenishing stock as required

  • Supporting the household during renovation phases (e.g. preparing rooms, clearing spaces, light organisational tasks)

  • Liaising with the PA, grounds staff, and contractors when necessary

  • Taking direction from the Principals and PA to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Candidates must be/have:

  • Proven experience working within a HNW or UHNW private household

  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

  • A proactive, flexible approach with a positive and discreet manner

  • The ability to “read the room” and respect family privacy

  • Potentially open to increasing to four days a week in future

  • Confidence working around pets

  • Excellent communication skills and fluent spoken English

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)

Hours

08:00 – 16:00. Two days per week (initially), ideally between Monday – Thursday, with scope to increase to four days.

Surrey, CR5.

Salary

£16,000 for two days, with potential to increase to £32,000 for a four day week.
