About the position

Canon USA in Burlington, NJ is currently seeking a Credit Representative I (Representative, Credit I). The Credit Representative I will be responsible for the timely collection of all items (Rental, Tax, Maintenance, service, supplies etc.) as billed to the customer by Canon U.S.A. Inc as outlined in the underlying Agreements, SOW's, Addendums, etc. Promote Canon Brand through the use of applicable techniques aimed at balancing collection and customer service efforts. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Timely follow up of all past due items (Equipment, Supplies, Service, Rental, Tax, Usage, Base Fees etc.)
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, quality work ethics, works well with others, and respectful of other associates at all times
  • Work in a fast paced, team environment with high call volume, keeping good composure even during disputes
  • Ensures the timely and proper application of cash and credits to customer accounts
  • Use Oracle & S21 Financials, including but not limited to (Advanced Collections, Order Management, Field Service, Contract, Customer Care, Install base), including credit/rebill resolution and payment application methodology and other critical areas required to successfully manage the portfolio and bring timely resolution to open activities
  • Provides Risk Management through the timely escalation of defaulted invoices to management for direction and remediation solutions
  • Obtains and understands root causes of issues and works with internal and external partners (CFS, Dealers) to bring timely resolution to most routine
  • Works with every facet of the CSA organization (Contracts, Sales, Service, Supplies, Customer Service & Management) to find resolution to most customer issues
  • Uses excel for day to day operations such as creating statements, sorting and basic calculations
  • Uses time management skills to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals
  • Run and manage own reports
  • Work closely with internal and external customers to complete resolution by using strategic thinking

Requirements

  • Typically requires general education and/or vocational training but little to no experience
  • This position requires a high school degree or equivalent
  • At least one year in a Credit and/or Accounts receivable department or equivalent experience preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of experience
  • Must be comfortable working with figures and must use tact dealing with customers
  • Effective P.C. skills necessary, including knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and communications software through Windows platforms
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure are needed
