Customer Operations Specialist (Part-Time, Remote, Asia Time Zone)

About Moreta Moreta is a fast-growing fintech startup building a digital wallet for travelers, expats, and locals across Southeast Asia. We make it easy to load funds, pay with QR at merchants, and manage money across borders. As a YC-backed company, we’re moving fast and obsessed with giving our users a seamless, trustworthy experience. We’re looking for a part-time Customer Operations Specialist to join our team. You’ll be the first point of contact for our users — answering support messages, reviewing KYC, solving problems, and escalating issues when needed. This is a critical role that directly impacts customer trust and satisfaction. What You’ll Do • Respond to user inquiries through Intercom chat and support email. • Conduct KYC verification on new users and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely, empathetic solutions. • Escalate complex cases to the appropriate team (engineering, compliance, etc.) when necessary. • Handle sensitive financial and personal data with the highest level of confidentiality. • Maintain accurate support documentation and report recurring issues. • Work remotely in Asia time zones to align with our users. What We’re Looking For • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. • Prior experience in financial institutions, fintech, or payment apps. • Experience handling sensitive or regulated information (KYC, AML, personal data). • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Empathy and professionalism when dealing with customers. • Good judgment on when to escalate issues vs. when to resolve independently. • Availability to work part-time hours (with potential to grow into a larger role). Why Join Us • Be part of a YC-backed fintech startup at an early stage — your work will have direct impact. • Flexible remote work in Asia time zones. • Opportunity to grow with the company as we expand across Southeast Asia. • Work with a small, ambitious, and supportive team passionate about building financial infrastructure.
