As a lead customer strategist for organic search on the Commercial Lines Web Presence team, you'll drive SEO strategies to enhance visibility for Progressive Commercial Insurance products across traditional search engines and emerging AI discovery platforms. This role combines technical expertise, content strategy, and authority-building efforts while collaborating with teams like development, product management, and design to achieve scalable growth. Additionally, you'll address technical challenges, optimize performance, and align SEO efforts with PR and branding to strengthen authority in the ever-changing search landscape.

This is a remote position with occasional travel to Corporate Headquarters (300 North Commons Blvd., Mayfield Village, Ohio) roughly three to four times per year.

Must-have Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten years of related professional work experience (e.g., definition and delivery of products through digital, voice, and agent channel experiences)
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of seven years of related professional work experience (e.g., definition and delivery of products through digital, voice, and agent channel experiences)

Preferred Skills

  • Proven success driving measurable organic growth for enterprise-level websites, with expertise navigating complex, highly regulated financial services industries
  • Expertise across technical, content, and offsite SEO, including Core Web Vitals, structured data, entity/knowledge graph optimization, multimodal search (text, image, video), and authoritative link-earning strategies
  • Deep fluency in SEO fundamentals with experience optimizing and testing for AI-driven and “search everywhere” strategies including social search, video and LLMs
  • Advanced understanding of entity-first SEO, semantic search, and Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (EEAT) frameworks, with the ability to build brand authority through digital public relations (PR) alignment and high-value mentions and links
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and analytical skills, including writing dev-ready tickets, shaping content briefs, building dashboards and forecasts, and delivering strategic insights that drive data driven decision-making

Compensation

  • $98,400 - $131,200/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
