PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Competitive Intelligence Management - Lead the development of methods of capturing and storing competitive information, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape. Deliver timely, relevant, and actionable insights to support decision-making across strategy, research, and development teams.
  • Content Development and Communication - Develop and maintain effective communication vehicles to share competitive insights with internal stakeholders. Ensure timely and relevant updates on competitive trends through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Data Collection and Analysis - Conduct and/or manage primary and secondary research to gather data on competitors and market trends. Transform raw data into actionable intelligence, including predictive insights about competitor strategies and capabilities.
  • Competitor Analysis - Evaluate competitors' strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to identify areas for Cencora to gain competitive advantages. Provide insights to inform business strategies, market positioning, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with internal teams, including commercial teams, Strategy, and Business Development, to align competitive intelligence with broader business objectives. Ensure integration of insights into strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Critical Thinking and Insight Development - Analyze collected data to derive implications and actionable recommendations for Cencora's business units. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by providing objective, data-driven insights.
  • Team Collaboration and Vendor Management Partner with other research leaders and manage relationships with external vendors for competitive intelligence projects. Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with SCIP codes of conduct and ethical business practices.
  • Budget Oversight Manage the budget for competitive intelligence activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced degree in analytics, business, or a related field is preferred (e.g., MBA).
  • Experience in competitive or market intelligence, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • 7+ years of experience in related fields such as market research or business analytics.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong ability to deliver presentations and insights to senior and mid-level leadership.
  • Experience in strategy/management consulting and/or equity analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare or pharmaceutical market research and competitive analysis methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in market research, data collection, and analysis.
  • Expertise in market dynamics, trends, and competitive landscapes to inform decision-making (e.g., SWOT analysis).
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information persuasively.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.

$124,000 - 190,850

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
