SpaceX is looking for a talented and detail-oriented employee experience specialist who will be responsible for creating a positive and productive work environment that enhances employee satisfaction, engagement, and overall experience at our Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, TX. This role will develop and implement strategies that improve workplace culture with a focus on events, programming, and site enhancements to ensure McGregor employees feel valued and supported throughout their journey at SpaceX. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to create company-wide impact by driving large-scale initiatives and occasionally supporting events at other SpaceX locations. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Plan and execute engaging social events & holiday celebrations throughout the year for employees at the McGregor site (examples include the annual Holiday Party and Family Day events, Halloween, Veteran’s Day, and Employee Appreciation Day) + Ensure implementation of companywide employee engagement programs in McGregor (Flown Bolt Recognition, SpaceX Anniversary Patches, SpaceX Perks, specialty employee gifts, etc.) and make process improvements as needed + Manage McGregor Communities (employee social groups) by approving funding requests, promoting and growing local groups, and training new SpaceX Community Leads + Work with the Merchandising team to stock, manage, and evolve the on-site McGregor employee swag store + Collaborate with the Facilities team to make ongoing furnishing and decor improvements to ensure McGregor office spaces are inspiring, up to the SpaceX standard, and remain in good operating condition + Continuously assess local employee perks for McGregor employees and bring in new perks and benefits to enhance the overall experience + Update local internal communication channels (McGregor internal page, monthly newsletters, display screen content, etc.) in collaboration with the Internal Communications team + Act as a point of contact for guests, clients, and vendors visiting SpaceX to ensure their experience is positive + Assist with organizing, preparing, and hosting meetings; responsibilities may include preparing meeting content, coordinating food and beverage, furniture re-arranging, and audio-visual needs + Manage McGregor site employee seating charts and maintain employee directory & map + Provide occasional employee event support (pre-planning and/or onsite) for other SpaceX locations as needed BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: + High school diploma + 2+ years of professional experience in employee engagement, human resources, workplace culture initiatives, or as an event planner PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + Creative thinker with a passion for enhancing the employee experience + Positive "can-do" attitude with willingness to participate at all levels of the business + Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills + Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously + High level of self-motivation, prioritization, and strategic thinking + Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic organization with rapidly changing needs + Ability to take direction from multiple staff members, prioritize workload, and be willing to do light cleaning and run various errands + High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion + Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: + This position is based in McGregor, TX, and requires being on-site – remote work not considered + Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed + Up to 10% travel to other SpaceX locations + Ability to lift 25lbs unassisted ITAR REQUIREMENTS: + To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
