Environmental Sampling Associate Summer 2026

<p><strong>Job description</strong></p><p>TruePani Inc., an environmental consulting and communications firm, is seeking an environmental sampling associate to join a passionate team tackling water quality projects focused on reducing lead in drinking water.</p><p>The position is a full-time, 10-week work experience during Summer 2026. College students are eligible for this position. Each day involves traveling to collect water samples at client sites (mostly schools and child care facilities). <strong>The role is based in Dallas, Texas. For candidates located outside of the area, relocation and a housing stipend will be provided. </strong>The position includes frequent travel and fieldwork.</p><p><br></p><p>We are accepting applications and conducting three rounds of interviews on a rolling basis throughout March and April. All offers will be provided by late-April 2025.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Details</strong></p><ul><li>Compensation: $20 - $23 / hour, typically 40 hours per week</li><li>Work days typically begin around 6:30 or 7 AM and conclude around 3 or 4 PM. A lunch break in the middle of the day is provided and there may be down time between traveling to sites.</li><li>Location: Texas</li><li>Start Date: May 28<sup>th</sup>, 2026 (For students)</li><li>End Date: August 6<sup>th</sup>, 2026 (Flexible)</li><li>Additional Details: The position requires walking around client sites, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Compensation is provided for travel time to client sites and mileage reimbursement. Potential for performance-based bonus. This position does not offer health insurance or retirement.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>The individual in this role will work with the larger project management team to:</p><ul><li>Collect water samples at client sites, mostly schools and child care facilities across the state of Texas</li><li>Pack and ship water samples to laboratory</li><li>Assist with project communications</li><li>Collect information on a digital device while in the field</li><li>Accurately collect site data and complete chain of custody forms</li></ul><p>Successful individuals in this role are highly motivated and able to work both within teams and independently. Candidates should be able to anticipate work that needs to be completed. We will train the right person to collect facility water samples to be delivered to the lab for analysis in addition to maintaining a detailed sample log.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Degree or pursuing degree in environmental science or a related field</li><li>Proficient in Excel</li></ul><p><br></p><p>In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Background checks will be required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for at least the last two years is required. High School Diploma or GED required.
