Epic Security and User Provisioning Senior Analyst

Job Summary The Epic Security & User Provisioning Senior Analyst functions under the direction of the Application Manager and serves as a mentor to the team while providing advanced system-level support of multiple Epic applications. This role provides expert technical knowledge, project management leadership, and workflow optimization skills. While this position does not directly manage staff, it provides mentorship to team members, assists managers with project planning, and drives cross-functional initiatives. The Epic Security & User Provisioning Senior Analyst plays a hands-on role in managing user access within the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) platform. Working under the direction of the Director of Business Applications and Epic Security Manager, this position is responsible for provisioning user accounts, updating templates and security classes, processing access-related tickets, and participating in audits and go-lives. The analyst collaborates with HR, clinical departments, and IT teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and role-appropriate access based on established Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their Epic security skill-set while supporting the secure delivery of patient care. Key Responsibilities • OnCall Rotation. • Provides advanced knowledge of the Xtensys Epic version, including configuration, data manipulation, and complex reporting. • Communicates project status, timelines, and risks to Managers and Directors. • Assists the manager with project planning and coordination. • Leads optimization projects and community connect initiatives. • Innovates by optimizing workflows and identifying efficiency opportunities. • User record administration, security template management, auditing access logs, troubleshooting issues, supporting system implementations and upgrades. • Build, configure, and maintain EMP (User)provisioning accounts SER (Schedulable Epic Resource) (Provider) Records in Epic. • Coordinate onboarding of new providers and departments, ensuring timely and accurate setup for clinical and billing function. • Troubleshoot user related issues and provide support to operational users and application teams. • Generate reports or queries to audit EMP & SER records and resolve data discrepancies proactively • Participate in project meetings, build planning, and crossfunctional initiatives involving provider/location data. • Participate in Users & Security Workgroup to collaborate with the application analyst for proper build requirements and projects. • Documentation of process and procedures & facilitates integrated security workgroups. Qualifications and Experience • Up to 5+ years of Epic security experience, with indepth knowledge of EMP/SER records, templates, roles, and security class configuration. • Provider and/or Data Courier Badge preferred. • Strong understanding of user and provider security standards within Epic. • Experience with audit tools, identity and access management systems (e.g., Active Directory), and ticketing platforms (e.g., Jira, Service Now). • Strong experience with Excel; including strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. • Serves as a mentor and technical resource for the entire team. • Works with Stakeholders determining needs and requirements, configuring the system to meet those needs; not limited to configuration, testing, training, validation. • Promotes accountability and continuous improvement across the team. • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to nontechnical stakeholders. • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration across teams. • A proactive approach to problemsolving, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership over projects. • Passion for improving healthcare delivery through technology and innovation. • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment. Education/Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent experience is REQUIRED. • Schedulable Epic Resources (SER) certification is REQUIRED. • PMP certification preferred. Travel Requirements • 510% may be required to onsite for upgrades, pre/post ‘golives. • Travel required based on project and clients’ needs. Physical Requirements • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
