Experienced Senior Visual Effects Supervisor – Film Production and VFX Pipeline Development at arenaflex

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Effects Supervisor to manage both internal and third-party co-productions across arenaflex's original movies. This individual should be well-established in the VFX industry, with strong work experience at the vendor and/or production level. The successful candidate will be responsible for curating vendor and VFX crew relationships, evaluating and helping to budget scripts, and creatively investigating and commenting on work, all while supporting filmmakers and helping to expand the arenaflex VFX pipeline. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of the VFX process on a slate of movie projects as assigned by the Director, VFX Collaborate with production teams, Studio creative Executives, and Finance during development and pre-production Read scripts, develop VFX breakdowns and budgets, and plan for production and post-production Provide guidance and feedback on VFX scope of work and feasibility Build and manage visual effects teams, recruiting Supervisors, producers, vendors, and negotiating with retailers Oversee contract negotiations and liaise with legal to maintain thresholds for costs and company regulations Manage VFX delivery progress and arenaflex file tracking, guiding VFX producers to assume and troubleshoot schedule and budget issues Ensure production is running smoothly, meeting deadlines, and staying on budget Support broadening and maintaining consistent reporting on budget, schedule, and VFX development Collaborate with the VFX manager and VFX producer to review VFX media and ensure the highest quality work Network with new teams and up-and-comers, monitoring skills availability and staying up-to-date with industry trends Essential Qualifications 2+ years of experience in overseeing multiple projects at a time in managerial roles, such as VFX producer, post producer, VFX executive producer, VFX supervisor, etc. A passion for visual effects and the technology and artistry that makes it possible Experience in gathering and negotiating vendor bids, and budgeting for visual effects International relations and discretion in handling sensitive issues and unique subjects Superb executive communication and mastery of the ability to steer without authority Understanding of current trends for VFX production workflows Team player who flourishes in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting Preference and self-motivation to continuously learn and improve Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task Preferred Qualifications Technical knowledge of the visual effects process, including 4K pipelines and emerging technologies for improving workflows Knowledge of tax incentives and rebates Experience in crafting, implementing, and executing strategic projects and department workflows A love for the creative process and a desire to contribute to innovative storytelling Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
