Job Purpose

 

The Field Food Service Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on, field-based leadership and execution support across Food Service sales, inventory, food safety, brand standards, and training. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of food service systems, software, and brand standards utilized at Royal Farms and operates primarily in stores to drive consistent execution.

The Field Food Service Specialist owns the execution and validation of food service inventory audits, related audit documentation, and food service field compliance activities, while partnering with store and field leadership to influence sustained operational performance.

The Field Food Service Specialist collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Food Service, Training, Risk Management, and Loss Prevention partners to ensure strong food service performance and sustained compliance at the store level. Through frequent store visits, real-time coaching, auditing, and training, this role plays a critical part in driving sales growth, protecting margin, and ensuring food service departments are consistently set, safe, in-stock, and guest-ready.


Responsibilities

Essential Functions

 

Inventory Execution & Oversight

    • Oversee the integrity of fast-food inventory data by confirming accurate departmental counts and maintaining up-to-date cost tracking documentation.
    • Manage the submission of inventory audit documentation and fast-food counts through internal reporting systems, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
    • Conduct accurate fast-food inventories following company standards, inventory calendars, and audit procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and data integrity.

Audit Integrity & Variance Resolution 

    • Research Variance - Investigate significant inventory variances by validating audit data against store records, ensuring discrepancies are thoroughly reviewed and resolved.
    • Closing Conference - Lead closing discussions with store leadership to communicate audit findings, review over/short data, and confirm inventory accuracy.
    • Document store conditions and audit outcomes through photos and system screenshots to support audit integrity and maintain compliance records.
    • Ensure audit findings and corrective actions are clearly communicated to District Leaders, with follow-up until resolution is confirmed.

Standard Operating Procedures Management

    • Conduct food safety, brand standards, and workplace safety audits & tasks from the customer and associate views.
    • Partner with Local Health Departments to support compliance with all food safety handling standards.
    • Provide effective coaching and direction to the store team to assist them with growing knowledge from your time spent in-store.
    • Review and report on your zone's audit results weekly. Partner with appropriate departments to assist the store operation teams with meeting all company standards.
    • Review and report on weekly store corrective actions, following up with District Leaders to ensure completion in an appropriate amount of time.
    • Leader-specific training courses or classes as needed to support the growth of store operations.
    • Attend and support New Store Openings and their teams to meet business demands.
    • Support the growth initiatives of out compnay and our customers.

Additional Responsibilities

    • Uphold the mission, core values, and brand standards of the company by ensuring all practices reflect integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.
    • Performs other projects/duties as assigned by management to support the success of food operations at Royal Farms.
    • Write and submit a monthly store visit and administrative schedule for review.
    • Book travel according to company policy and submit expense reports timely and accurately. 

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

Required

    • ANSI Approved Food Protection Management Certification.
    • A minimum of 4 years of food service or hospitality experience.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively without supervision, showing initiative, good judgement, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks, and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
    • Candidates must reside within their assigned Zone.
    • Percent of oversight travel required - up to 50%.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
    • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel regularly to all retail locations.

Preferred

    • Experience in food safety and brand standard evaluations.
    • Teaching or coaching experience in a food-related field.

Work Requirements

 

 

This position is primarily field-based and requires travel to all Royal Farms store facilities across all States, as well as for training and development related to company initiatives and industry changes.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and perform physical activities such as standing for extended periods, walking store floors, bending, kneeling, climbing step stools, and lifting materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.

This position requires a flexible schedule, including early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support store operations and business priorities. 


Pay Range

USD $50,000.00 - USD $60,000.00 /Yr.
