We seek a self-starter, visionary team player with strong infrastructure cabling capabilities to drive standards as well as innovative methodologies to achieve these objectives who likes to travel to locations worldwide.<br><br><strong>Description<br><br></strong>The Data Center Operations group is looking for a Field Service Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining servers and supporting fixtures and infrastructure in our remote locations globally.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong>Help complete projects in the deployment and maintenance of compute servers, including cabling infrastructure and DCIM elements.<br><br>Provide DC incident management and change control to prevent and/or manage failure scenarios leading to the recovery of services with improvement plans to mitigate future occurrence.<br><br>Vendor management for infrastructure expansion, enforce compliance with technical specifications and quality standards<br><br>Lead material movements with Engineers, Project Managers and/or Customer Business teams on driving movements within required delivery timelines.<br><br>Ensure required actions are implemented in Apple systems to facilitate job function Identify issues and perform Root Cause Analysis to prevent future operational impact.<br><br>Travel to various locations domestically and internationally where our collocation sites are located.<br><br><strong>Minimum Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience with data center operational tasks, including rack sizing, equipment installation and decommissioning.</li><li>Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and lift as required on a continuous basis with items that can weigh up to 75lbs</li><li> Hands-on experience with various copper and fiber cabling structures</li><li>Ability to travel up to 60% of your work schedule<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Capable of independent problem solving and self-motivated.</li><li>4+ years’ experience or related experience in a data center environment.</li><li>Strong communicator at all levels with excellent oral and written skills to a variety of audiences.</li><li>Ability to build and grow relationships and collaborate with other teams.</li><li>Prior experience in DC operations, supply chain, DC Construction </li><li>Experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools. </li><li>Possess a global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization</li><li>Ability to manage key stakeholder interests while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Pay & Benefits<br><br></strong>At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $110,500 and $166,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.<br><br>Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
