Finance Operational Analyst - Remote

Job Overview:<br><br>The Finance Operational Analyst is responsible for providing financial support for critical areas and time-bound processes such as the annual budget, periodic forecasts and the month-end close cycle. Assists in the preparation of various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning and reporting. Collects information from various areas across the company to assist in the building of models to provide insight to underlying business dynamics.<br><br>What does it mean to be part of our Finance/Accounting Team?<br><br>A role on our Finance and Accounting team involves helping UNFI maintain and grow its financial health as we continue to transform and scale. We need to ensure that our financial analysis and statements revolve around constant communication with our partners within the organization as well as outside to provide the most current statistics for our business health. By being attentive to details, trends, and inefficiencies, and communicating with our teams, you’ll be key to our success and continued growth as North America’s premier grocery wholesaler.<br><br>Job Responsibilities:<br><br><ul><li>Prepares accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research and forecasts as directed. </li><li>Compiles and prepares accurate and timely reports. Able to convey information in a meaningful way utilizing tables, graphs and charts. </li><li>Contributes to the analysis of alternatives, recommendations and research from multiple sources. </li><li>Develops and prepares various analytical and statistical reports in support of the business activities. </li><li>Provides support to the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analysis and sensitivity testing. </li><li>Contributes to critical planning and analysis processes. </li><li>Partners with other departments in the preparation of analyses and to identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line. </li><li>Supports functional and cross functional projects and implements process improvements within functional area. </li><li>Able to articulate impact of analysis, modeling, business decision support on key financial measures (i.e. Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DOH, DSO, etc.). </li><li>Conceptualizes, develops and presents business cases to department financial leadership. </li><li>Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and some project direction input. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned<br><br></li></ul>Job Requirements:<br><br>Education/ Certifications:<br><br><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field.<br><br></li></ul>Experience: <br><br><ul><li>0-2 years FP&A experience required.<br><br></li></ul>Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:<br><br><ul><li>Solid oral and written forms with ability to express ideas and ask relevant questions. Active listening. Able to listen closely and ask pertinent questions so the speaker knows the message is being understood. </li><li>Novice to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and related software applications. </li><li>Ability to be a team member and demonstrate skills to contribute to team dynamics. </li><li>Capability to work independently when needed. </li><li>Outstanding analytical skills (numerical, verbal). </li><li>Strong Strategic Planning, Financial and Operations / Business Background. Not purely financial background required. </li><li>Strong business acumen. </li><li>Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available<br><br></li></ul>Work Environment:<br><br>Remote Role:<br><br><ul><li>This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so.
