The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced WELL Performance Testing professional to support performance verification across a diverse portfolio of buildings. This freelance role is ideal for someone passionate about healthy buildings and environmental quality, with the flexibility to manage project-based assignments including international delivery.

WELL Performance Verification is a third‑party, on-site assessment that confirms whether a building meets the health and well-being performance thresholds set by the WELL Standard. It involves a mix of post-occupancy testing, field measurements and documented evidence collection, all performed by qualified Performance Testing Agents working under approved providers.

You will manage and deliver site visits and coordinate the reporting with their internal team.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Performance Testing & Verification including Air, Water, Light, Thermal Comfort and Sound, following the WELL Performance Verification Guidebook protocols.

Perform field measurements using direct-read instruments and collect samples for laboratory analysis when required.

Manage equipment logistics, set-up, operation, and troubleshooting throughout the testing process.

Act as the main point of contact during testing with their internal team and clients.

Manage testing for international sites, including travel arrangements and equipment with the internal team.

Personal Attributes & Skills

Proven experience conducting building site visits and surveys

Experience conducting indoor environmental quality testing (air, water, light, thermal comfort, acoustics) is highly advantageous.

Working knowledge of WELL Performance Verification processes and testing protocols is highly advantageous.

Excellent data handling

Strong organisational and project management skills.

Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing interactions.

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required.

Working Arrangement

This is a freelance, project-based role - you will be commissioned for specific testing assignments.

Engagements typically include:

On-site performance testing

Off-site data coordination with internal teams

Evidence upload support

Salary and compensation

Hourly rate depending on experience and accreditation.
