[Hiring] People Ops Lead @LI.FI

Apart from the tech, we care a lot about user experience and aim to make complex technologies accessible to everyone.

A quick run-down of the job

We’re looking for a seasoned People Operations Lead to own, build and action the operational engine behind our People function.

You will deconstruct existing workflows, identify structural inefficiencies, and rebuild them to operate better, faster, and more scalably - leveraging AI, automation, and thoughtful process design. But you won’t stop at design. You’ll implement and drive processes, and iterate where needed to maintain excellence. You’re an advanced user of AI tools and have a solid track record in optimising and automation.

You’ll create the blueprint for how People Operations should run and then design and implement the mechanisms that make it durable, measurable, and efficient at scale. This isn’t about maintaining what exists. It’s about building what we need, embedding it properly, and ensuring it runs smoothly over time.

You will be mentoring the People Operations team and will work with stakeholders across all departments.

If you’ve built modern, AI-enabled People Ops infrastructure in a scaling environment - and want to do it at a higher level of impact, this role is for you.

🌍 Location

Remote within the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
Your application will not be considered if you’re outside of this region.

What You'll Do

People Operations Architecture & Transformation

  • Own the design, implementation and evolution of all People Ops processes across the organization.

  • Audit and deconstruct existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, risk, and scalability gaps.

  • Rebuild processes from first principles to improve speed, accuracy, and employee experience.

  • Establish and drive operational standards and SLAs

  • Move the function from reactive administration to proactive, scalable infrastructure.

You are responsible for the system - not just the steps inside it.

Drive People Processes

  • Co-create and operationalise all core People processes (e.g. feedback cycles, performance reviews, onboarding, offboarding).

  • Delegate day-to-day execution where appropriate while maintaining architectural ownership and owning execution

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across HR systems.

  • Keep documentation alive that makes the function future-proof.

  • Operate at both strategic and operational altitude — from system design to hands-on problem resolution.

AI-Driven Process Scaling

  • Design and implement AI-enabled workflows across onboarding, offboarding, payroll inputs, documentation, performance cycles, and policy management.

  • Identify manual administrative work and systematically automate it.

  • Build intelligent templates, AI copilots, and repeatable frameworks that reduce operational load.

  • Continuously iterate workflows based on data and feedback.

  • Establish a culture of experimentation and optimisation within People Ops.

AI is not a tool you use occasionally — it’s core to how you design.

Global Employment & EOR Strategy

  • Own the operational framework for EOR and external employment partners.

  • Act as the primary process lead across EOR workflows, ensuring clarity, compliance, and efficiency.

  • Evaluate process friction, cost drivers, and compliance gaps - and implement improvements.

  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, transparency, and operational consistency.

You are accountable for how the system runs — even when execution is shared.

Operational Intelligence & Metrics

  • Define and track People Ops KPIs (process SLAs, cycle times, engagement touchpoints, data integrity, etc.).

  • Build dashboards that surface actionable insights.

  • Use metrics to drive continuous process refinement.

  • Ensure People data becomes a strategic asset, not an administrative byproduct.

What Makes a Great Candidate

  • 5–10 years of experience in People Operations or HR roles - you've built this before, in a fast-paced or scaling environment.

  • Proven track record of rebuilding broken or inefficient processes into scalable infrastructure.

  • Deep understanding of AI tools and automation platforms and practical experience implementing them in operational workflows.

  • Strong systems thinking and process engineering mindset.

  • Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and EOR structures.

  • Advanced HRIS expertise (HiBob, Rippling, BambooHR, etc.).

  • In-depth knowledge of Notion, G-Suite and Slack including integrations, automations and AI features

  • Ability to move between strategy and execution fluidly.

  • Comfortable delegating execution while retaining architectural ownership.

  • Excellent communicator with strong cross-functional influence.

  • Experience in crypto, Web3, or high-ambiguity environments is a strong plus.

  • Leadership experience is a plus

  • Excellent English is essential.

  • German language skills are a plus

  • Leadership experience is a plus

Company culture

  • Embracing the differences

    • Embrace your own differences

    • Respect and welcome the unique qualities of others

    • See others’ differences as an opportunity to grow

  • Own it, do it

    • Own tasks end-to-end

    • Hold yourself to a high bar for execution

    • Make bold decisions, and be accountable

    • Understand your limitations and seek for help

  • Fail forward

    • Try - don’t be afraid to fail

    • Learn - don’t make the same mistake twice

    • Adapt - grow with the experience

  • Have fun together

    • Take the time to get to know and understand each other better

    • Don’t take yourself too seriously and keep it light-hearted

    • Fun should be coming from a place of love and respect

What you’ll get

  • Annual team offsites (Thailand in 2023 and Vietnam in 2024 were a blast, Marrakech in March 2025 was blast-ier; let’s see what happens in 2026!)

  • 30 days of PTO

  • Flexible remote days

  • Flexible working hours

  • Equity participation from day 1

  • Entitlement to work computer (choice of equipment)

  • An annual 1,000€ personal development budget once you have worked 6+ months (pro-rated the first year)

  • A one-time 1,000€ remote budget to use on coworking, office setup, etc.

If you join us as an independent contractor, you’re only entitled to the first five benefits of this list.
