INP120: Sr. Specialist, Bonded Warehouse (Supply Chain)

The Senior Specialist, Bonded Warehouse will be responsible for the complete Bonded Warehouse function under the International Supply Chain business of FedEx Logistics. The position will be responsible for setting up bonded warehouses across India from the initial stage. The position will also be responsible for leading and growing bonded warehouse operations across India—overseeing strategy, regulatory compliance, financial performance, stakeholder management, and commercial expansion.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Define and execute business strategy for bonded warehousing aligned with organizational goals.
  • Drive financial performance, managing budgets, revenue targets, cost controls, and profitability strategies.
  • Ensure full compliance with Indian Customs norms
  • Maintain detailed records of all bonded goods, carriers, and clearance documentation.
  • Coordinate audits and inspections with Customs authorities to maintain license integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee end-to-end bonded warehouse operations: goods receipt, secure storage, inventory control, dispatch, and returns.
  • Implement robust SOPs and ensure compliance with the same.
  • Monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, turnaround time, duty deferment, and space utilization.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, importers/exporters, consultants, and Customs.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction—handle escalations, ensure SLA compliance, and optimize service quality.
  • Identify, pursue, and win new B2B business—importers, exporters, 3PLs, e-commerce players.
  • Develop pricing strategies, service offerings, and marketing plans. Represent the warehouse at industry events and client pitches.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for bonded warehousing services across India.
  • Identify and acquire new clients (importers, exporters, 3PLs, e-commerce players, manufacturers).
  • Build strategic partnerships with logistics providers, trade associations, and industry networks.
  • Design competitive pricing models and service packages to attract high-value customers.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry forums, and client meetings to enhance visibility and brand positioning.
  • Drive cross-selling of value-added services (e.g., labeling, repacking, kitting) to increase revenue streams.
  • Drive light-value services (e.g., labeling, repacking, kitting) under Customs approval.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE

Academic:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business.

Experience & knowledge:

  • Post-graduate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Bonded warehouse operations, Customs compliance.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes including order management, logistics, and inventory.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bonded warehouse experience is desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience supporting new projects or client onboarding is a necessity.
