WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.<p><span style="color:#ffffff">_________________</span></p><p><u><b>Position Summary</b></u></p><p><span>The position will play a crucial role in evaluating and managing investment opportunities for NBA Investments, the NBA’s corporate venture capital division.<span> </span>This position will participate in the identification, analysis, and execution of potential investments in promising startups and growth-stage companies and will work closely across multiple internal NBA constituencies to gather and prioritize strategic investment focus areas. <span> </span>This person will be responsible for critical process management efforts, from developing a company database to tracking the opportunity pipeline and monitoring portfolio company progress.</span></p><p></p><p><br /><u><b>Major Responsibilities</b></u><br /><u>Deal Sourcing / Research</u><br />• Identify investment opportunities through market research and various deal-sourcing channels.<br />• Conduct initial screening of investment opportunities based on strategic fit, financial viability, and growth potential.<br />• Conduct research around industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform investment decisions and strategy.<br />• Develop a company database to track key industry metrics and serve as an internal benchmarking tool.<br /> <br /><u>Investment Analysis</u><br />• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective investments, including financial analysis, market research, competitive landscape assessment, and risk evaluation.<br />• Collaborate with subject matter experts internally to assess strategic fit and upside potential within the organization. <br />• Assist in preparing investment recommendations for the Investment Committee and SLT. <br /> <br /><u>Portfolio Management</u><br />• <span>Support portfolio companies by identifying growth opportunities and addressing operational challenges.</span></p><p>• <span>Monitor existing portfolio companies’ performance by tracking key performance indicators and financial metrics, while comparing it to the market.</span></p><p>• <span>Prepare progress reports and presentations to the Investment Committee and Board of Governors.</span></p><p></p><p></p><p><u><b>Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes</b></u><br />• Strong analytical ability and proficiency in financial modeling, business valuation, and data analysis<br />• Familiarity with venture capital / private equity / M&A transactions and processes.<br />• Knowledge of startup ecosystems, industry trends, and emerging technologies.<br />• Ability to understand term sheets and identify key issues to negotiate.<br />• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.<br />• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis.<br />• Creative & innovative thinker with analytical & entrepreneurial mindset.<br />• Team player who can work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment internally and network externally.</p><p>• <span>Strong organizational and project management skills.</span></p><p><br /><u><b>Required Education/Professional Experience</b></u><br />• Minimum 7 – 10 years of relevant work experience. <br />• Work experience in venture capital, consulting, investment banking, or private equity is required.<br />• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. <br />• Advanced degrees, such as MBA preferred.</p><p><br /><u><b>Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes</b></u><br />• Strong analytical ability and proficiency in financial modeling, business valuation, and data analysis<br />• Familiarity with venture capital / private equity / M&A transactions and processes.<br />• Knowledge of startup ecosystems, industry trends, and emerging technologies.<br />• Ability to understand term sheets and identify key issues to negotiate.<br />• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.<br />• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis.<br />• Creative & innovative thinker with analytical & entrepreneurial mindset.<br />• Team player who can work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment internally and network externally.</p><p>• <span>Strong organizational and project management skills.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Salary Range:</b></p><p>$200,000 -
