This role provides advanced technical expertise, hands-on engineering, and operational support for Dell storage platforms within a mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Dell EMC storage technologies, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of storage systems.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Storage Engineering & Administration<br><br><ul><li>Architect, deploy, configure, and maintain Dell EMC storage solutions (PowerStore, Unity, Isilon/PowerScale, VNX, Data Domain).</li><li>Manage storage provisioning, zoning, LUN creation, replication, and performance tuning.</li><li>Oversee storage capacity planning, forecasting, and lifecycle management.</li><li>Implement and maintain storage best practices, standards, and documentation.<br><br><br></li></ul>Operations & Support<br><br><ul><li>Provide Tier III support for storage-related incidents, outages, and escalations.</li><li>Perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective/preventative action plans.</li><li>Monitor system health, performance, and utilization using Dell tools and dashboards.</li><li>Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations involving Dell storage platforms.<br><br><br></li></ul>Security & Compliance<br><br><ul><li>Ensure storage systems comply with DoD cybersecurity requirements and STIGs.</li><li>Support vulnerability remediation, patching, and configuration hardening.</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to data protection and access control policies.<br><br><br></li></ul>Collaboration & Leadership<br><br><ul><li>Serve as the primary technical advisor for Dell storage technologies.</li><li>Work closely with network, virtualization, and server teams to support integrated solutions.</li><li>Provide guidance, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and administrators.</li><li>Participate in planning meetings, technical reviews, and architecture discussions.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Active Secret Clearance (must be current).</li><li>5+ years of hands-on experience with Dell EMC enterprise storage systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of SAN/NAS architectures, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and storage networking.</li><li>Experience with VMware integration, multipathing, and virtualized storage environments.</li><li>Proficiency with Dell EMC management tools (Unisphere, PowerStore Manager, OneFS).</li><li>Solid understanding of backup/restore technologies and replication strategies.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues in high-availability environments.</li><li>Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Dell EMC certifications (EMCSA, EMCE, Specialist-level).</li><li>Experience supporting DoD or federal environments.</li><li>Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and RMF processes.</li><li>Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).<br><br><br></li></ul>Work Environment<br><br><ul><li>This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA.</li><li>Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required for mission-critical operations.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>We make technology work so people can do great things. </strong>   <br><br>CDW is a leading multi-brand provider of information technology solutions to business, government, education and healthcare customers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.
