Operations Site Supervisor

Base Location: Ferrybridge, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 depending on experience + company vehicle + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time 

As an Operations Site Supervisor, you'll play an integral role in maintaining high standards and efficient operations across SSE Solar & Battery Storage sites. You will be responsible for upholding high safety, compliance, and performance standards. While this role is primarily based in Ferrybridge, flexibility and the ability to travel within the UK to support other Solar & Battery sites are part of this role, emphasizing the need for a proactive approach.

You will

  • Lead site safety, environmental compliance and operational excellence, ensuring adherence to company policies, site-specific requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Plan, schedule and oversee maintenance and servicing activities to maximise plant availability, production targets and overall performance.

  • Ensure all work is efficiently planned and safely executed using approved safe systems of work, including preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Manage emergency response activities in line with the approved ERP, including incident investigations, safety drills and sharing lessons learned across the business.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, reporting and work control processes to maintain high safety, compliance and quality standards.

You have

  • ONC / SNVQ Level III (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline, with supervisory experience in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Proven experience working on operational utility-scale Battery Storage, Solar PV or other renewable energy assets.

  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple seniority levels.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single line diagrams and schematics, alongside experience conducting inspections and quality audits.

  • Understanding of financial protocols and budget management, with flexibility to travel across the UK and a valid driving licence.

Although this role will be primarily based in the Leeds area, some travel to other sites across the UK may be required, therefore the ability to travel and a valid driving licence is essential.
