Part-Time - Deputy - Hospital Security

Harris County Sheriff's Office Hospital Security Unit deputies' primary duties include maintaining and monitoring inmates sent to the hospital or other off-site medical facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates who are outside of the jail for medical purposes.
Searching, securing, and escorting inmates in non-secure areas.
Searching areas where inmates will receive medical attention.
Interacting with the public and medical personnel.
Performs other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary.

THIS IS A PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION

THIS POSITION MAY END AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT

Must be an Honorably Retired Peace Officer.
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcement, record management, or a related field.
Must have an active TCOLE Peace Officer License.
Prior experience in conducting conflict resolutions.
Must present a professional image.
Agree to commit to the Hospital Security Unit; the length of time will be determined at a later date.


Knowledge of:


Applicant must be willing to be trained in all necessary computer programs and/or systems, including Superion, DIMS, JIMS, and Windows Office Suite.


Skilled in:
Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.


Ability to:
Perform searches of inmates to include inmates with medical issues and in a hospital bed.
Perform other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary.
TASER Certified
Bilingual

Benefits

This is a part-time, temporary position without benefits.

Hours

A minimum of 20 hours per week with a maximum of 30 hours per week.
Hours are based on the needs of the department.
Possibly including Weekends and Holidays.
