Patient Care Coordinator - Remote NY

About the position

Comprehensive is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to work with our Rego Park Location (remote). This is a full-time role with benefits. The primary role is to advocate for patients to ensure that they get the best care possible. As a part of carrying this role out, they perform administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, entering patient data, scheduling patients with various clinicians, and coordinating multiple schedules. Someone in this role needs to be able to work with a variety of different people, including doctors/clinicians, insurance companies, patients, as well as patients' families in some cases. They need to be organized, analytical, patient, and empathetic. They also play a role in ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards and requirements. This position will require technical training on our software.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently match patients with our partner clinicians
  • Effectively Work with and update our databases and matching software (General understanding of databases, smart phones, and Microsoft Office is a must)
  • Assist in answering incoming phone calls in a prompt and professional manner
  • Quickly return calls and answer emails as needed
  • Connect and disconnect answering service and follow up on messages received from voicemails/emails.
  • Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, verify and update necessary information in the medical record and insurances
  • Check patients balances, account status, and/or insurance
  • Obtain and receive information necessary for the preparation of a new patient record
  • Scheduling appointments and updating them in the appropriate databases/software.

Requirements

  • General understanding of databases, smart phones, and Microsoft Office is a must

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Experience in customer service or healthcare administration preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
