Position Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Photography Studio Assistant to support our photographers and studio manager in the planning, setup, and execution of studio and location based photoshoots, sample control and studio organisation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient studio transitions, managing equipment, and maintaining consistency across visual assets for multiple shoots. Working alongside creative lead and production to facilitate set setup fast and efficient

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare sets and equipment for photoshoots, ensuring everything is in place before shooting begins.
  • Test new setups, lighting, and other technical aspects to ensure smooth transitions during studio setup.
  • Efficiently break down sets from previous shoot, ensuring all equipment is put back onto its original place and any damage is reported.
  • Proactively ensure the workspace adheres to company health and safety guidelines, promoting a safe environment for all involved.
  • Manage the studio photography equipment inventory, track equipment check-in and check-out, and organize regular maintenance under the supervision of the Photography Manager and Studio Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining the studio and office space and surroundings organised, safe and meet the high standard set by the Studio Manager.
  • Assist photographers with shooting casting, production, and location photoshoots as required.
  • Provide logistical and practical support for photoshoots to ensure seamless execution.
  • Assist creatives with pre-production tasks such as set building, painting, and prop management to ensure the required elements are in place for the shoot.
  • Upload shoot images independently, ensuring all deadlines and delivery targets are consistently met.
  • Manage and resolve any image-related issues to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
  • Maintain a records of all uploaded jobs along with any issues encountered.
  • Maintain and manage content on the internal website.
  • Ensure the internal site is regularly updated with shoot previews and relevant content.
  • Provide general assistance to photographers, Studo Manager and, the creative team as needed, ensuring smooth operations during and after photoshoots.
  • Support checking-in samples across multiple documents and inspecting physical samples conditions.
  • Support with monthly charity donations.
  • Create and distribute a monthly internal newsletter, ensuring key updates and highlights are effectively communicated.
  • Create content for showroom screen displays.
     

Job Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
  • A problem solver with an impeccable eye for detail, capable of focusing and following through in a dynamic environment.
  • A "can-do" attitude under consistent workload with the ability to stay motivated and perform effectively.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and external teams.
  • Strong interest in fashion, studio, and production processes, with the ability to bring creativity into the setup and execution.
  • Strong time management skills and punctuality, with an organized approach to tasks.
  • Good communication skills for relaying instructions, ideas, and feedback clearly.
  • 2 years+ experience as a photographer assistant or in a related production role.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern photography techniques, including studio and location shoots.
  • Naturally creative with a strong eye for color, style, and detail.
  • Familiarity with Canon, Sony, Profoto, Aperture, Capture One, Photoshop
  • Physically able to move heavy equipment, props, and other materials around the studio and location shoots.
