Duke City Cares is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing telemedicine and mobile medical service line, Duke City Virtual Care. This is a 100% remote role, supported by a dedicated virtual clinical team, allowing you to focus on what matters most while providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

About the Role

As a Duke City Virtual Care provider, you will diagnose and treat both primary care and acute care conditions through advanced telemedicine technology. You’ll serve as both a clinician and educator, supporting disease prevention, chronic care management, and overall wellness.

This role is ideal for providers with Primary Care experience and Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine expertise who are comfortable adapting to new technology and working independently in a remote setting.

Please note: Interview preference is given to candidates who already possess a New Mexico license, as this significantly expedites credentialing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat primary care and acute care patients via telemedicine
  • Conduct new patient visits, Medicare Wellness visits, attestations
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs, etc.)
  • Diagnose and manage chronic and acute conditions
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and prevention
  • Promote preventive care and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Strong background in Primary Care AND Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine
  • Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
  • Comfort with and willingness to learn new telemedicine platforms
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, compassionate approach
  • Ability to see 3+ patients per hour
  • Ability to work in a quiet, distraction-free remote environment for 10–11 hour shifts
  • Willingness to participate in Duke City Cares’ monthly education program

Licensure & Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree (PA or NP)
  • Current National PA or NP certification in good standing
  • New Mexico medical license (required)
  • Ability to obtain DEA and NM Controlled Substance licenses

Credentialing & Start Date

  • NM-licensed providers: credentialing averages ~90 days from offer acceptance
  • Providers requiring NM licensure: credentialing may take up to 6 months
  • Start date is contingent upon completion of credentialing

(typically 3–6 months from offer acceptance)
