Amazon is seeking a Principal Strategic Business Development leader to join our international team in Singapore. This is a rare opportunity to shape strategic partnerships for AWS's most critical customers while driving pan-Amazon strategy from a centralized, high-impact role.

Key job responsibilities
As a Strategic Business Development Leader, you will be responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon's most complex and high impact partnership activities while having a strong technical aptitude to identify best in class partnerships for Amazon Web Services (AWS). This includes managing relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are complex, need a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications to AWS and other Amazon business units.
You will be required to handle multiple projects that may span a variety of business categories, working with global and regional partners on strategic consumer engagement initiatives across a variety of international regions. You will be forward-thinking and effectively negotiate terms that benefit AWS, Amazon and our customers.
This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon, and you will need to work collaboratively with internal management teams to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie. You will need to consider and communicate market feedback for product requirements impacting road maps, current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption.
We dive deep and provide thoughtful analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. Executing strategic partnerships and customer alignment are our primary objectives.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships that can involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships
  • Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, and senior management to execute on the relationships
  • Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track opportunities
  • Support the strategic objectives and interests of AWS customers

Our primary goal is to meet customers in their cloud journeys and work backwards from their industry-specific needs to transform their businesses and industries. Our team focuses on business outcomes and industry use cases on behalf of our customers, whether that is how we build products and solutions, how we sell, how we deliver, or how we partner.

AWS Strategic Business Development is a small, tight-knit team who values authentic, strong willed individuals who think creatively and will proactively seek out opportunities to advance the growth initiatives of AWS business.
The role implies deep understanding of the businesses of AWS customers in ASEAN across multiple industries (e.g., Telco, retail, Auto, Financial Services, Public Sector) and an ability to earn trust with AWS and Amazon's business leaders in the region in order to secure deals for AWS and Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
  • 7+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology deals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thought leader with a solid understanding of advertising, commerce, consumer, and enterprise technologies
  • Experience with business development work including complex agreements with integrators and ISVs
  • Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships to help navigate complex situations and foster long-term opportunities
  • Passion for big challenges
  • Experience working in ASEAN and familiarity with the Public Sector landscape
