About the Role

As a Product Owner – Market & Counterparty Credit Risk, you will make an impact by defining, prioritizing, and delivering Market Risk capabilities that support regulatory compliance, effective risk management, and business outcomes for large, regulated banking clients.

You will be a valued member of our Banking & Financial Services Consulting team and work collaboratively with Market Risk stakeholders, Treasury, Finance, Model Risk, Compliance, Technology teams, and delivery partners. This role owns the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Market Risk solutions and ensures regulatory and business requirements are translated into a prioritized, value‑driven delivery plan within an agile, regulated environment.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk capabilities, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives
  • Lead delivery across Market Risk domains including Trading Book risk, CCR, CCAR, IRRBB, VaR, stress testing, and FRTB‑related requirements
  • Translate regulatory, risk, and business needs into a prioritized, value‑driven product backlog, balancing regulatory urgency, risk materiality, and technical dependencies
  • Serve as the primary business owner and decision maker, partnering with senior stakeholders across Market Risk, Treasury, Finance, Model Risk, Compliance, and Technology
  • Drive agile execution by partnering with Scrum Masters and delivery teams, participating in key ceremonies, and accepting or rejecting work based on defined acceptance criteria and regulatory intent
  • Leverage data and analytics insights to guide prioritization, enhancements, and remediation across Market Risk metrics, reporting, and controls
  • Provide leadership across cross‑functional and onshore/offshore teams while ensuring strong product governance, audit readiness, and delivery transparency

Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a position requires 3 days a week in a client Tulsa, OK or Dallas, TX. What You Must Have to Be Considered

  • 10–12 years of experience in banking or financial services, with strong exposure to Market Risk
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager within a regulated environment
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Market Risk and Trading Book risk
    • Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)
    • CCAR Market Risk components
    • IRRBB, VaR, and stress testing
    • FRTB concepts and regulatory implications
  • Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory and business needs into a prioritized product backlog
  • Experience working with technology, data, and risk platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management, decision‑making, and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders

These will help you succeed

· Prior consulting experience supporting Tier 1 or global banking clients

· Experience working within large‑scale agile delivery programs

· Exposure to cloud‑based risk platforms or modern data architectures

Compensation

  • $134,500-$158,500
  • This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans
