Job Title: Product Support & Service Technician

Salary: £24,000 – £25,000 per year

Location: Milton Keynes

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Monday to Friday)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, specialist technical business based in Milton Keynes. This is a varied and hands-on position supporting service delivery, technical operations and customer support across the business.

As a Product Support & Service Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment is prepared, maintained and delivered to customers to the highest standards. This position offers exposure to both hardware and software elements, making it ideal for someone technically minded who enjoys variety and problem-solving.

You will support busy periods across multiple departments, helping maintain exceptional customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking, packing and dispatching equipment for sales, hire and calibration orders

• Receiving and inspecting goods from suppliers and customers

• Monitoring and reporting stock levels

• Logging and tracking equipment requiring service or calibration

• Preparing hire agreements, sales orders and updating internal systems

• Communicating with customers via email and telephone to confirm hire requirements

• Providing first-line technical support and escalating where necessary

• Identifying faults and carrying out minor repairs where possible

• Assisting with small-scale hardware builds and low-level electronic assembly

• Supporting remote monitoring and technical solutions via internal platforms

Requirements

Essential:

• Engineering background or strong technical interest

• Comfortable working with hardware and basic electronic systems

• Confident communicator via phone and email

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes

• Flexible and willing to support multiple areas of the business

• Positive, learning mindset with a proactive attitude

Desirable:

• Experience in a technical, manufacturing or instrumentation environment

• BTEC Level III (or equivalent) in a technical or numerate discipline

• Experience handling delicate or sensitive equipment
