[Remote] 2026 Summer Intern - Business Strategy & Operations: Product Development Data Sciences (PDD)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Genentech is a biotechnology company seeking a Summer Intern in Business Strategy & Operations within Product Development Data Sciences. The intern will support strategic planning and operational activities, contributing to the alignment of priorities and enhancing efficiency through various initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop a foundational understanding of PDD strategy, operations, and reporting processes, to enable strategic recommendations and decision-making around how we operate across PDD
  • Assess existing metrics, reports, and dashboards to determine relevance, usage, and decision-making value
  • Revive, prioritize, and rationalize metrics, focusing on eliminating low-value or duplicative reporting and rolling-out an evolved metrics dashboards
  • Review end-to-end processes (e.g., onboarding, contracting workflows) to identify friction points, redundancies, and opportunities for automation, simplification, and efficiency gains
  • Develop an approach and governance for maintaining and validating the 'sources of truth' across PDD operations
  • Contribute to preparation of presentations, communications, and materials for functional updates, governance forums, senior leadership reviews, and evolving sub-functional or PDD-wide requirements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership

Skills

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program)
  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
  • Must have attained a Master's Degree
  • Degree in business, life sciences, public health, data sciences, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience or knowledge within automation / AI, metrics, dashboards, and performance frameworks (e.g., OKRs, KPIs)
  • Comfortable with a continuous improvement mindset and challenging the 'why'
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative, curious, and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
