[Remote] Portfolio Manager, Central Labs

The Portfolio Manager will oversee complex projects, manage client relationships, and ensure successful project delivery across strategic accounts while coordinating with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overall portfolio management, deliverables and client relationship and satisfaction​
  • Provides oversight and coordination of client portfolio for high value or pivotal client account studies. Provides oversight to internal departments and external clients to ensure the project requirements are understood, agreed and followed at all times, this requires negotiating and real-time decision making with the client
  • Facilitates the flow of technical information to all stakeholders
  • Consults and utilizes the scientific input of laboratory management and technical staff to manage portfolio deliverables
  • Facilitate portfolio-wide meetings and attend program meetings for visibility and escalation
  • Collaborates with Business Development and Finance to develop and capitalize on new opportunities to expand client portfolios
  • Ownership of strategic governance meetings: prepare, lead and drive actions
  • Participate in Tiered Accountability to support portfolio risk mitigation
  • Ownership of large or complex portfolio contracts, contract renewals, and supports securing new opportunities for growth and expansion of the portfolio
  • Oversight of revenue recognition for the portfolio
  • Provide training and mentorship for Program Manager I, Program Manager II and Program Manager III
  • Drive consistency with program management processes and tools across program managers and team, support harmonization efforts across departments and sites
  • Communicate and escalate priorities and risks to manage the portfolio timelines and relationship

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience
  • Demonstrated experience providing portfolio-level oversight for central laboratory studies
  • Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Advanced project and portfolio coordination capabilities, including risk and financial oversight
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial and central laboratory operations
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential and sensitive clinical and business information
  • Proven ability to mentor and support project management staff in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to influence outcomes across cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and fast-paced environment
