[Remote] Principal Business Systems Analyst - Pathology & Lab Tech Solutions

MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution in cancer treatment and research, seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst to support their Pathology & Laboratory Technology Solutions team. This role involves delivering technology solutions for pathology and laboratory operations, engaging in project planning, solution design, and process improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs
  • Deliver precise functional specifications including hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface definitions, data analysis, and mapping
  • Interact directly with clients to gather comprehensive requirements and recommend solutions
  • Conduct Gap Analyses Between Application Capabilities And Customer Requirements
  • Work with development teams on labor estimates and functionality planning
  • Collaborate with QA and development teams to verify and test requested changes
  • Demonstrate new or updated system functionality to clients
  • Perform quality assurance on project deliverables
  • Recommend and institute business analysis best practices and tools
  • Develop training materials and conduct one-on-one or classroom sessions
  • Prepare and deliver continuing education sessions for users and coworkers
  • Create role-based training programs using adult learning principles
  • Provide go-live support during rollout periods
  • Manage multiple competing priorities with strong organization and communication skills
  • Coordinate work across departments and function as a team or project lead
  • Develop use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements
  • Represent end-user needs in software development environments
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, PALTS teams, and leadership
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide ongoing support and training for PALTS applications
  • Offer problem-solving expertise for all PALTS-related systems and functionality
  • Coordinate technical efforts with Development and Release Management
  • Share on-call responsibilities during evenings, weekends, and holidays

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 years in progressive software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, Epic software, or domain to include two years lead/supervisory experience
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis
  • Master's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field
  • Laboratory and technology experience from the healthcare industry
  • Experience supporting clinical, pathology, or laboratory information systems
  • Experience with workflow analysis and documenting business processes
  • Strong lab project management experience
  • CBAP - Cert Business Analysis Prof Upon Hire
