About YAS Academy

YAS Academy is a small, private learning environment created around a customized accelerated

Education plan for one student.

The student (age 10) is currently working at approximately a 4th-grade level. The academy follows

a continuous academic year from September 15 to September 15.

Learning goals:

  • Achieve solid Grade 4 mastery by September 15, 2026
  • After that, progress through approximately two grade levels per year
  • Reach high-school testing readiness by age 15

This is not a tutoring role and not supplemental homework help.

Teachers help operate a complete, structured private learning program in a calm, focused,

one-on-one setting.

Position Overview

We are hiring two remote teachers who can guide the daily learning experience and ensure

continuity of education. Either instructor should be comfortable running the school day

independently when needed.

The role includes instruction, lesson planning, pacing, assessment, and supporting steady

academic growth within a provided curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core academic subjects (math, reading, writing, science, history, reasoning)
  • Work with and adapt the provided curriculum
  • Prepare daily lessons and maintain structure
  • Monitor understanding and adjust pace
  • Create and administer quizzes and assessments
  • Track progress and identify learning gaps- Maintain positive one-on-one engagement
  • Provide clear progress updates and observations

Requirements

  • Experience teaching elementary-age students
  • Comfortable teaching multiple subjects
  • Able to guide structured learning sessions for several hours
  • Organized, patient, and consistent communication style
  • Reliable internet, camera, and remote teaching setup
  • Available during U.S. Pacific Time mornings (Mon–Fri)

Credentials

A teaching credential, education degree, or strong verifiable teaching experience is expected.

Formal certification is preferred but practical teaching ability matters most.

Pay: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour
