The ideal candidate will be a newsbreaker, tasked with reporting on top storylines in college football recruiting and transfer portal, breaking news, and building notoriety for our brand across the country.<br /> <br /> Responsibilities:<br /> 1. Football Recruiting and Transfer Portal:<br /> • Be the go-to expert on college football recruiting, providing news, in-depth analysis and insights into the top storylines and trends on the top prospects in the country and assisting the top college markets in that region in their recruiting coverage as well.<br /> • Stay updated on the latest recruiting developments and deliver timely, accurate, and engaging content to our audience.<br /> • Cover and report on key camps and combines throughout the year to provide news and intel on the top football prospects. • Work with team sites, social and our multimedia divisions to maximize distribution of news and original content.<br /> 2. Newsbreaking and Reporting:<br /> • Break news related to college football recruiting and transfer portal, keeping our audience informed and engaged throughout the process providing insight and analysis.<br /> • Provide video and podcast appearances to share breaking news and a breakdown of not only what happened but why it happened and what it means.<br /> 3. Building Brand Notoriety:<br /> • Actively contribute to building and enhancing our brand's reputation across the country.<br /> • Connect with our existing readers and potential new readers through various platforms, including message board communities and social media.<br /> 4. Relationship Development:<br /> • Develop and nurture relationships with key individuals and organizations involved in football at the high school, college and agency levels.<br /> • Leverage these relationships to gain exclusive insights and information for our coverage.<br /> 5. Video:<br /> • Provide video hits including live shows, and radio appearances to recap and report the day's biggest news in college football recruiting and transfer portal. • Deliver engaging and informative content for our audience on-camera.<br /> Qualifications:<br /> • Strong knowledge and passion for college football recruiting and transfer portal, with a deep knowledge of the industry's dynamics and trends.<br /> • Proven ability to break news and deliver insightful analysis in the world of college football recruiting and transfer portal.<br /> • Exceptional communication skills, both in writing and on camera.<br /> • 2+ Years of experience in on-air appearances, live shows, podcasts, or radio is a plus.<br /> • A strong network of contacts within the football community at the high school and college levels is advantageous.<br /> • Strong social media presence and proficiency in utilizing social platforms for brand promotion.<br /> • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.<br /> • Travel required during the year covering specific football recruiting events.<br /> CBS Sports, a year-round leader in cross-platform sports coverage, broadcasts a portfolio of events on the CBS Television Network, including THE NFL ON CBS; college football, including the Big Ten ON CBS; college basketball, including the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship; golf, including The Masters®, PGA Championship and PGA TOUR; soccer, including the UEFA Champions League and NWSL; and CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR.<br /> In addition, the division includes CBS SPORTS NETWORK, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports which televises live sports programming throughout the year, including college football and basketball games, UEFA Champions League and Europa League action, Italy's Serie A matches, Concacaf national team competitions, as well as a full slate of original programming and studio coverage.<br /> CBS Sports also delivers an extensive lineup of global soccer coverage on Paramount+, including every UEFA club competition match, all Serie A matches as well as Concacaf national team competitions, and produces INSIDE THE NFL for Paramount+. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
