This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home (Monday or Friday).

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our CS&BD team, with a strong focus on Sports-related projects and initiatives.

In this role, you will evaluate consumer trends & competitor dynamics in Sports, and assess real commercial opportunities within the Sports media ecosystem. You will run business case analysis, develop strategic recommendations, and help define the long-term direction of our Sports offering, working closely with cross-functional teams across Disney+ and ESPN.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional analytical skills and a collaborative mindset, with a good understanding of both the sports media industry and the streaming business. You will be directly involved in developing business cases for major sports rights acquisitions and commercial partnerships, accurately assessing the financial and operational impacts, to inform ultimate decision-making. You will also monitor performance of existing sports initiatives, recommending optimizations to maximize engagement, revenue, and overall value to consumers.

This is a high visibility/ high impact role, where you will work directly with senior leaders across Disney+ and ESPN, and support on critical decisions that will shape our Sports offer across EMEA in the years to come.

Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Maintain a comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date database of past and current sports media rights in EMEA, as well as upcoming rights tenders. This includes leveraging multiple information sources (e.g., desktop research, internal knowledge from ESPN teams,…) and will contribute to maintaining a forward-looking, prioritized pipeline of target rights.
    • Conduct research and analysis on individual sports and media rights to support the evaluation of sports rights pitches and inform business cases for sports rights acquisitions. This work will combine information provided directly by rights holders, thorough desktop research, and gathering of internal knowledge from ESPN teams, research teams and other relevant stakeholders within TWDC
    • Support the development of business cases for sports rights acquisitions, including financial & subscriber modelling, valuation analysis and scenario planning
    • Work closely with Marketing, Programming, Product, Commercial, Productions and other teams to translate rights acquisitions into actionable go to market plans, ensuring timely and successful launches
    • Track performance of acquired sports rights on Disney+, providing insights to improve overall sports content performance on the platform and enhance the consumer experience
    • Support analysis of other growth opportunities for Sports in EMEA (e.g., commercial partnerships, evolution of commercial offer, introduction of new product features), assessing strategic fit and financial & operational impacts
    • Support preparation of annual strategic business review and multi-year plan for Sports, including coordination with relevant Regional and US/Global stakeholders.
    • Monitor key Sports trends - including consumer preferences, competitors (rights owned, monetization strategies, commercial offers, product features, etc.) and broader Sports landscape dynamics -, extracting meaningful insights to inform key decisions

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Robust working experience, including direct exposure to Sports, in
    • Top tier Management/ Strategy consultancy firm and/or Private Equity firm, with experience in Sports / Media projects

and/or

  • Streaming service, Pay TV/ Telecom provider, Broadcasting group or other media company, in a Business Development, Strategy or Finance role, with exposure to Sports business/ operation

and/or

  • Professional Sports organizations (e.g., Clubs/ Leagues/ International Governing Bodies, Sports Agencies,…), ideally in a Business Development, Strategy or Finance role
  • Strong analytics – demonstrated ability to think in structured way (both conceptually and analytically) and to conduct / review complex quantitative analysis to inform business decisions
  • Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
