Position Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer who will work as part of a cross functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions.

The role will involve establishing and delivering test strategy, including the planning and execution of testing and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data driven continuous improvement principles.

A Mechatronic background is required with hands-on mechanical and electronics skills being advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.

Senior Hardware Test Engineer

The successful candidate will be a highly focused, self-motivated individual who already is experienced in developing system tests and use of data to validate product performance. The successful candidate will have a depth of knowledge and experience of:

  • Electromechanical systems i.e. motors, sensors and control
  • Establishing test strategy
  • Test planning and execution
  • Data analysis and result reporting (PowerBi, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Test Software Scripting
  • Test Automation
  • National Instruments LabVIEW software

Qualifications

  • Minimum HND/Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechatronics, Electronics, Computing, Software Engineering or related subject
  • Relevant Work experience in a Electro mechanical engineering role would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

  • As Senior Test Engineer you will help to develop the test team and report team status
  • Test Scripting e.g. Lab View, Python
  • Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts
  • Undertake testing and debugging of our design, ensuring that the design meets the design specification
  • Capture, analysis and reporting of test data
  • Provide technical insight into the test data and establish opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure test rigs are built and setup correctly to support the rapid development cycles
  • Willing to travel, globally e.g. customer sites for support or analysis
