An industry-leading business is looking to hire a Senior IT Support Engineer as they look to expand their support team. The Senior IT Support Engineer will be joining a business which is always investing in the latest technology and will be given the opportunity to increase their responsibilities and team beneath them.

In the role of Senior IT Support Engineer, you will be supporting individuals across all levels of the business over the phone, remotely or face to face. The Senior IT Support Engineer will also get the chance to work on an array of projects including but not limited to; conditional access rollouts, hardware upgrades and refreshes and implementing new technology/equipment.

Furthermore, the Senior IT Support Engineer will be given the opportunity to grow and develop their career in other areas of IT, progressing to an Infrastructure or Modern Workplace Engineer or even becoming a Team Leader/Manager.

Responsibilities for the Senior IT Support Engineer:

  • Deliver projects - conditional access rollouts, hardware upgrades and refreshes, application and operating system patching, implementing new technology/equipment and more
  • Focus on resolving 2nd line tickets but willing to resolve 1st and 3rd line issues when required
  • Perform system administration tasks
  • Support individuals across all levels in the business
  • Provide support over the phone, remotely or face to face
  • Mentor and give guidance to junior Engineers
  • Implement and support IT security controls
  • Create and update documentation
  • Provide out of hours and weekend support where required

Essential Skills for the Senior IT Support Engineer:

  • Coached/mentored staff in the past or led a project
  • Azure - onboard devices & group policies for Azure AD/On-prem
  • M365 - creating policies, conditional access
  • Intune - policy management
  • Windows 10 or 11
  • Networking (DHCP/DNS, TCP/IP) - troubleshooting
  • Create and update documentation
  • Soft skills - strong communicator, team player, can do attitude, willing to muck in and do what is required, fast learner, take responsibility & independent

Desirable Skills for the Senior IT Support Engineer:

  • Experience with - Lenovo hardware, Endpoint controls (firewalls, BitLocker, MS Defender) or PowerShell
  • Any relevant qualifications
  • Past experience working in an MSP
