Social Media Analyst [208057]

This role is hybrid in Downtown Detroit.

Responsible for assisting business units across DTE Energy with social media initiatives. Responsibilities include campaign development, community management, social media listening, paid social media placements and reporting.
Span of control: this is a contractor role through the end of 2026 with ability to extend annually.

Key Accountabilities
Campaign Development:

  • Coordinate with business units, social media manager and agency partners on developing campaign briefs for paid social media campaigns including recommended platforms, content and optimization.
  • Assist social media manager with additional campaign performance reports as needed to share with internal business partners.
  • Community Management
  • Post organic social media content as needed and tag content properly to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Serve as liaison with Customer Service’s social care team to share emerging topics from Corporate Communications team and updated talking points.
  • Assist with public and private customer inquiries on DTE’s social media channels.

Social Media Listening

  • Use listening topics and additional social media searches to report on volume, sentiment and trending posts on topics relevant to DTE.
  • Flag trending posts and emerging issues from social media to DTE teams for awareness and response.
  • Paid Social Media Placements
  • Assist social media manager with executing smaller paid social media campaigns in-house.
  • Manage objective selection, targeting, correct asset placement and UTM tagging when placing ads.
  • Assist with creating campaign reports on KPIs.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field – and the knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through 5+ years of job-relevant experience.

Other Qualifications Preferred

  • Experience in Customer Experience Platform (e.g. Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout).
  • Knowledge of launching paid social media campaigns across multiple platforms (e.g. Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok)
  • Knowledge of Boolean searches for creating listening topics

Other Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, project management, time management and multitasking skills, including ability to act quickly, manage expectations and deliver on deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Sound business judgment, including ability to quickly grasp complex issues and understand their effects and interconnections.
