The role

Orbit are delighted to be recruiting for a Social Media & Digital Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. The Social Media & Digital Manager is responsible for supporting the Social Media Officer to help manage Orbit’s social and community platforms.

This role will see the successful candidate supporting, driving and delivering programmes of work which enhance our digital experience across all audiences, and being responsible for developing and leading Orbit’s social media strategy and execution. This is a hands-on position that will ultimately increase Orbit’s brand awareness and perception online, whilst driving performance and impact through social media. This is an agile working role, based out of our Coventry office roughly once per week (subject to fluctuation in line with business need).

What you'll achieve

Develop, execute and evolve Orbit’s channel-specific social strategies, working alongside the Social Media Officer

Align activity and results to Orbit’s key objectives such as service delivery, whilst aiming to provide customers through social media with amongst the best customer experience of any Housing Association

Stay on top of social media trends, channels, algorithm changes and platform innovations to keep Orbit well placed within the social media space

dentify and nurture Orbit’s customers and key target audiences on social media and turn them into community champions, advocates and superfans who can help share and amplify Orbit’s storytelling potential and that supports user-generated content

Use a 360-degree framework approach to content and work with the Social Media Officer, subject matter experts, editorial leads and other colleagues within Orbit to unearth content with real value and storytelling potential

Work alongside the Social Media Officer to plan, manage, execute and optimise in-house paid social media activity (via Meta and LinkedIn), so that results and ROMI (Return on Marketing Investment) continually improve

Create compelling ad assets, copy and creative to maximise that delivers against key objectives

Manage the in-house paid media spend and ensure this stays within budget

Provide effective line management support for the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager that helps to drive team performance and development, whilst supporting day-to-day operational duties

Translate social media insights into clear recommendations that inform the content and strategic approachWhat you'll bring

Essential skills

Experience of working in a social media role

Outstanding understanding of social media channels including Meta, LinkedIn, X, Trustpilot and YouTube as well as social media management tools and analytics

Experience of working in a senior, assistant manager or manager role

Experience in using DevOps or other project collaboration tool

Hands-on experience in creating content including planning shoots, capturing video footage or images, and editing with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similaWhy Orbit?
