Sound Technician

FUNCTIONS:

Ability to install, set-up, operate and maintain all sound equipment for the Pinnacle Starbright Theater and at all other Sun City facilities. Be able to identify the sound requirements and perform the appropriate actions to produce quality sound.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Knowledge in the operation of the MIDAS LIVE DIGITAL CONSOLE (M32LIVE) and Mackie X32 console.

2) Ability to operate, monitor, and adjust audio sound equipment to its fullest potential for theatrical performances, meetings, guest speakers and power point presentations.

3) Ability to set-up and control associated equipment (CD player, DVD player and digital projector etc.)

4) Be able to possess personal tools necessary to do your job. (ex. iPad)

5) Responsible for set up and tear down in Starbright Theatre for entertainers. (Mics and monitors etc.) And for meetings and other events where sound is needed.

6) Liaising with producers and performer to work out the sound requirements.

7) Poses the knowledge to recommend quality technical equipment according to the job as needed for all facilities.

8) Install and maintain new sound equipment and/or audio equipment in the Starbright Theatre and at other facilities as needed.

9) Create user manuals as needed.

10) Assist in maintaining and adjusting stage curtains and rigging as to the needs of different performances.

11) Operate the scissor lift, as well as the different size and types of ladders to do elevated work safely and efficiently.

12) Must be flexible to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays. Must be dependable, self-motivated, detail orientated and organized and able to prioritize.

13) Must maintain Starbright Theatre as seen fit by Director.

14) Function effectively under stress and with interruptions.

15) Possess good interpersonal skills to deal well with a variety of personalities.

16) Be Accountable for one’s own work.

17) All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Must have knowledge in the operation of the MIDAS LIVE DIGITAL CONSOLE (M32LIVE) and Mackie X32 console. A minimum of 5 years’ experience running sound for theatre productions. Ability to work with and learn the sound operations of the association, along with stage rigging and set ups for various shows and meetings. Knowledge in the use the VCR and video projector, and other equipment with the sound consoles and speakers as needed for the different performances and presentations. Must have own transportation and car insurance at no cost to SCSCAI.
