Sr Principal Application Engineer for Custom IC Design

You will work closely with customers to understand their design challenges and proliferate recommended solutions. You will work closely with R&D, Product Engineering, and Sales to drive customer success. You will be the technical expert on Cadence tools and a valued consultant on design and implementation issues. You will own customer success!This role spans a broad range of Custom IC Design and Implementation technologies. You must be eager to learn new tools, flows, and technologies.You must manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.This role will include working with customers in the defense and aerospace industry who have specific requirements related to security.Responsibilities include:Understanding customers' custom IC design and simulation challengesGuiding customer design teams regarding methodology and flows to improve their productivityResolving critical tool issues impacting project timelines, often collaborating with product development and peer AEsSupporting customers with their custom design and simulation flowsConducting technical presentations, technical training, and product demonstrations to customers, including developing customized presentations as requiredSupporting technical evaluations/benchmarks and driving the process to deliver Cadence solutionsPartnering with Sales Management and other AEs to identify sales opportunities, prioritize them, and help develop winning sales strategiesDeveloping an understanding of the customer's needs and the competition's technology and sales strategies to create solutions that best meet our needsCommunicating customer requirements and feedback to Cadence Engineering and Marketing groups for issue resolution and to improve product features and qualityHelping customers adopt and proliferate our systems solutions including heterogeneous integrationSkills needed for this role:Minimum 5-10+ years of practical hands-on experience in design and/or simulation in Custom IC Design. Analog, mixed-signal or RF design experience is a plusStrong problem-solving, communication, organizational, planning, and presentation skills are essentialAbility to work independently and productively with high-quality output and results in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentMust be open to constant personal development and growth to meet the evolving demands of the electronics industrySome travel may be required and necessaryMinimum Education and Experience:Education: BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experienceExperience: 5+ years of relevant industry experienceThe annual salary range for California is $143,500 to $266,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
