Job Summary of Store Team Assistant:

As a Store Team Assistant, you will be in charge of stocking and displaying products, managing transactions, and keeping the store clean to ensure a pleasant shopping environment. By fostering teamwork with the ALDI staff and offering exceptional customer service, you will enhance the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities of Store Team Assistant:

  • Expected to carry out responsibilities with or without necessary help.
  • Show persistent dedication to embodying the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) relevant to the role.
  • Processes customer transactions, completes cleaning duties, arranges products on shelves, and ensures visually appealing displays
  • Facilitate exceptional customer service, aiding individuals in optimizing their shopping trip
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with colleagues and practice clear communication strategies with the store management team
  • Present management with comprehensive feedback on products, inventory shrinkage, scanning inaccuracies, and operational issues
  • Participate in the inventory counting process according to specified guidelines and verify inventory accuracy
  • Abides by cash policies and processes to mitigate the impact of losses
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures in place, ensuring the security and privacy of documents and data
  • Extra duties as mandated

Physical Demands of Store Team Assistant:

  • Proficient in relocating items from store receiving to shelves; skilled in arranging products, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelves at different heights
  • A typical part of the job involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and navigating the store
  • Mandated to carry out duties with or without reasonable assistance

Qualifications of Store Team Assistant:

  • Candidates must have attained the age of 18 to be eligible for employment in this role at ALDI
  • Talent for providing quick and courteous customer service
  • Skill in swiftly and accurately processing transactions through a cash register
  • Skillful in the safe and effective operation of equipment like electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard compactors to ensure workplace safety
  • Proficiency in meeting the company's cleanliness criteria through general cleaning duties
  • Ability to interpret and enforce organizational rules and procedures
  • Proficient in effectively expressing ideas through both speaking and writing
  • Demonstrated capability to operate independently or within a team context
  • Demonstrating proficiency in organization, attention to detail, adherence to instructions, and the capacity to multitask in a professional and productive manner
  • Comply with the state and local requirements concerning the proper practices for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
  • It is recommended to hold a high school diploma or its comparable alternative
  • Individuals with a retail background are given priority
  • The combination of academic training and on-the-job experience offering an equivalent amount of knowledge
