Supervisor, Building Security Patrol

<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>Under general supervision, supervises building security monitors providing protection for buildings and property. Responds to emergencies. Staff’s security posts as needed.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Supervises security and call center operations on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedules and approves leave time for building security monitors. Ensures that adequate coverage is provided.</li><li>Responds to reports of break-ins, emergencies, and other major incidents. Assess and documents incidents. Determines an immediate response, informs agency management of the situation, and takes action as directed.</li><li>Checks buildings and grounds in an assigned area. Reports incidents of property damage or criminal activity. Responds to burglar and fire alarms. Assists in conducting security surveys.</li><li>Receives and responds to service calls from schools and offices. Ensures that emergency and regular maintenance requests are being managed in a timely manner. Tracks and reports on the status of work orders.</li><li>Keeps attendance and work assignment records. Documents security activities. Prepares reports of accidents, vandalism, break-ins, and other maintenance incidents. Serves as a liaison to the police department.</li><li>Provides training, advice and guidance to building security monitors.Assists in developing related policies and procedures.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br><br></strong><strong>Education, Training And Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.Four years of experience in the field of security, law enforcement, and/or military policing. </li><li>Two years of experience supervising or leading others in the field of security, law enforcement, or military policing is preferred.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Licenses And Certificates<br><br></strong><ul><li>Possession of a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver’s license or an equivalent is required.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Knowledge of the principals and practices of building security. Knowledge of fire and building safety. Knowledge of alarm systems.</li><li>Skill in providing building security. Skill in responding to emergency situations.</li><li>Ability to supervise security employees. Ability to determine the proper courses of action in emergency situations. Ability to maintain records and produce reports.
