Supervisor, Insurance Verification - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Insurance Verification Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager in daily operations of the Benefit Verification team. Assists leadership with development of staff and goals of the department.

As an Insurance Verification Supervisor at Community Health Systems (CHS) - SSC Sarasota, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. Essential Functions:

  • Monitors daily operations of the department to ensure excellent customer service is achieved with both internal and external customers.
  • Maintains and builds working relationships between the department and their respective hospital departments, including central scheduling, registration, physician offices, etc. by gathering feedback from all parties to identify methods to improve service and productivity.
  • Adheres to call monitoring process.
  • Communicates operations status to leadership by providing daily/weekly data regarding department opportunities for improvement
  • Demonstrates ability to assign additional job duties based on department need that may be in addition to or in place of those normally performed by employees in a fair, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Monitors staff productivity and suggests/provides training, coaching, mentoring, etc. in a proactive fashion based upon CHS standards.
  • Consistently maintains professional level of communication with staff, both oral and written.
  • Gains experience in all areas of the department in order to properly supervise, provide back-up, educate, train, etc.
  • Serves as backup to staff when necessary to ensure daily standards are maintained.
  • Ensures all staff are educated on resources/tools necessary to perform their duties as assigned or requested with a positive attitude.
  • Actively engages staff to promote team work amongst their dept. and other depts. within the SSC and hospitals.
  • Monitors and provides daily staff productivity
  • Monitors daily workflow and makes adjustments as needed
  • Handles escalated situations in a calm, professional manner
  • Thoroughly reviews problem accounts and communicates resolutions in a professional manner
  • Oversees special projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
  • Assists with Departmental training
  • Attends educational sessions and department meetings as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • This is a remote position.

Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
    • Experience: 1-3 years related work experience
