Job Description

We are seeking a talented, passionate experienced system administrator to work with our team. If you’re an experienced, proactive, hard-working, organized, detail-oriented and professional system administrator with excellent communication skills in English, please read our requirements carefully and apply for this exciting position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
  • Configuring and maintaining the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications.
  • Ensuring data is stored securely and backed up regularly.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
  • Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary.
  • Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
  • Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system.
  • Providing technical support when requested.
  • Documenting any processes that employees need to follow in order to successfully work within our computing system.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Proficient experience in managing AWS servers - Auto scaling, fundamental understanding of security management, performance monitoring, backup automation
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of CD/CI tools such as Jenkins
  • Understanding of Office 365 basics plus advanced concepts - mail auditing, filtering, Spam prevention etc.
  • Experience in managing email delivery services like Mailgun
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Information systems or information technology.
  • Microsoft MCSE / CCNA certification or similar.
  • Past experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database operations.
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
  • Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are needed for the position
  • Cybersecurity knowledge is a plus

Candidates should be prepared to take additional tests/interviews. The full process includes two interviews - one with HR and one with the head of the IT team.
